What’s the last artwork you purchased? An awesome pen and watercolor piece by Halisia Hubbard


What kind of art do you wish you owned? more textiles


Where do you absolutely wish to visit? Berlin


Who is your favorite artist? ahh really inspired by Marina Abramovic but also more recently with German choreographer Sasha Waltz.


What are your hobbies? reading, doodling, poetry, yoga, walking and staring at trees


What role does the artist have in society? to reflect reality in a new way that allows perspectives to open up and or shift


What is your favorite artwork? Gallim dance company's "Fold Here" is a beautiful work that is special to me because it was commissioned and premiered at my hometown dance studio I grew up at.


Favorite project you’ve ever worked on? Pop! my experimental dance film and also the performance art installation I made for it's release party


Describe your practice in five words. meditative, intentional, playful, exhausting, collaborative


What would you do with $1 Million? start an art collective business initiative of some sort including a studio/venue space


How did you start making art? just being a ham growing up, always performing as a kid, putting on shows and using our coffee table as a stage to scream avril lavigne into a playdough microphone


Do you have a favorite quote? "If i can't dance to it, it's not my revolution,"- Emma Goldman


What are your greatest challenges and/or frustrations with art? Your art? deciding when to be done, getting bored with my work before it is presented


How do you view yourself as an artist? risk taking, contemplative, confrontational


How do you feel about self-promotion? still figuring it out, I think its important to be honest with yourself and others and to really look at your vision/ goals in order to figure out how you want to brand yourself comfortably


How do you price your work? Really don't know how to do that yet. I am happy if i break even with an event I put on, so that is a goal. It depends on what i am doing and who is involved. I want to start being more proactive at budgeting and making sure there is some kind of profit


What do you intend to say with your art? mainly I think just saying what needs to come out from deep inside. Listening to the inner animal is a big theme in my work


Are you a nostalgic person? yes, nostalgic and romantic for the past but also angsty for the future and always getting ahead of myself


What is the most “useful” emotion? The most “useless”? useful:passion useless: jealousy


Are you ready to die? Lol No
